Bear Lake, Ut

Our recent adventure was so much fun! We traveled to Bear Lake for the second time this month. With my family.  This time we were able to take some fun water toys with us! My parents just bought jet skis and the 20 th was my old man rivers birthday! So he wanted to come up to Bear Lake and relax! We had so much fun, like I said. haha. The lake was beautiful, and the water was so high that the water covered the beaches. So you could wade like 200 ft out there and  the waters only up to your chest! Which was so awesome, the kids had so much room to wander and play.  I took my camera but forgot I had it. So I just took one pic of us there, okay more like only of Joe there. While waiting to drive the jet ski he tanned. 

Oh did he tan! Hes got that great skin, unlike me who just fries to a crisp!  Well, after our day one adventured, we traveled further into Idaho. We headed to Montpelier, ID. Thats where we would be staying for the night. In a hotel and not a KOA, which I was so happy with. I dont think I would have survived  being a tent with Ty. Or being in a Tent altogether. I m not much of a camper. Back to my story. We stayed the night, got lots of rest. Got up and went to a restaurant called Ranch Hand.  Its this restaurant at this truck stop and they make such great food! The menu is pricey, but you wouldn't have guessed the food we were served. 

This a called a short stack. THE PANCAKES WERE BIGGER THAN HIS HEAD! I only got one and couldnt eat half! The food portions were HUGE! Everything was, but the Pancakes were the largest! We were so surprised.  And while shifting through the menu, we came across the "Big stack" ( I believe thats what it is called.) It was their challenge! You get three pancakes, the size above, and you have one hour to finish them. If you scudded you get your picture on the wall and a t shirt and your meal was free! We just thought it was going to be an I Hop pancake, not a monster sized pancake. Nathan really wanted the big stack to being with, good thing we talked him outta of it!  After a humongous breakfast, we headed back to North Shore Beach at Bear Lake.  Played on the jet skis, I have bruises thanks to them! I cant get on that thing to save my life. and the Time I did manage to get on and almost sit down Tom gunned the gas and I flew off the back! Ah we all had a fun time! :D  I love doing things with the family. So much to laugh at. 

Tys new, going to be, attachment.

Sometime around 6 mos children become attached to certain things. More or a less a blanket or toy.  Well I wanted a blanket that was boyish but not baby boyish. Something that he could have for a few years. So I made one. I have found minky fabric. Which is a softer more durable fleece. That doesnt shrink or lose its soft comfortableness. Then I chose a Camo cotton print to go on top, to match our awesome Camo diaper bag!  Here is the results! 

Then I had extra fabric over, So I made a Taggie. Not only do kids get attached to things, they love tags. So the idea of  a taggie is to put ribbon on it. That way it looks like a tag, on a blanket that they can chew and carry with them. It also beats them carrying around a giant blanket everywhere you dont want that blanket to go. So the taggie is the same materials as the big blanket. For security purposes! : D 

 It was my first time sewing with Minky, I am not the best sewing person, but it turned out okay. 

He seems to love it! Go me!

 On the other Hand, Ty now officially crawls! On his hands and knees. Most of the time, other wise he still army crawls. Hes pro at that.  He is also able to sit up by himself  ( from tummy to his bum )  all by himself. He is also learning to pull himself up on things. anything that's higher than him, including the walls.  Ty can also feed himself. Hes learned the pincer grasps with this thumb and pointer finger! He loves the ( Gerber ) puffs and bread. We can't wait to give him more things to eat when hes bigger and learns how to really chew his food.

So lately, I have been letting Ty cry himself to sleep. I don't want him in the habit of rocking him at night or feeding him in the middle of the nights.  So we let him find ways to sooth himself to sleep. Well anyways I let him do this last night ( July 16) cry himself to sleep . He cried, okay screamed, for oh I'd say about an hour. And when it silent, I knew that he had finally fallen asleep. I went up to check on him, and noticed that he was all covered up. I was like okay, hes learning how to use the blanket, awesome. Well I looked closer and saw that he had managed to get under the sheet! The SHEET! He had wrapped himself in his sheet and was just snoozing away. It was so cute, I had to try to get a picture. Now mind you getting this picture was not easy. The first time I didnt turn on the light so the flash kinda woke him up. My mistake on that part. Then 10 minutes later I went back up, turned on the light. Hurried and snapped the picture as I was running out the door.

Teeth

Yes, I have not posted in a while. This I know. Mostly because I spent 3 weeks of June down at my moms house. It was a blast, missed Tom alot, he was not able to go with me. I was watching kids for my mom, while she worked. She need some help, so my younger brother Joe could have somewhat of  a summer.  Well, while I was down there, Ty was super fussy.  Didn't understand why till I caught a glimpse of his gums. They were puffy and red. Then it hit me like a water balloon. Teeth, he has teeth coming in!! I was so surprised that they were going to be breaking the skin any day now. Well one broke through, you could feel how the points of it. That was exciting to tell Tom about, we had been expecting that he would teeth soon. And another surprise hit me again this week while I was at a friends house.  I had given Ty a Gerber puff, and to make sure it was gone I put my finger in his mouth to feel around. I came across his tooth, rubbed my finger along it. When I realized it kept on going, feeling longer than any tooth I have ever felt or seen. Then I was so excited! I just realized his other little bottom one has just broke through. The reason for a few sleepless nights and extra fussiness. Man, it was not there that morning, so I was off the walls excited.  Other than the two teeth, Hes on the move. He is fast. He has not quite got up on his hands and knees. But he can sure army crawl. Looks likes hes ready to hang out with the army guys!
Another side note- for the first time ever, he took a dive off our bed. I would put him in my bed in the early mornings, when he woke to feed him and put him back to bed. But instead of putting him back in his own bed I would let him stay next to me and cuddle. That's no longer happening, I m a little sad. I miss when he would just cuddle up to me and sleep. But I would rather have him safe in his own bed. Now knowing he rolls and can maneuver around the pillows I put up.
 He goes in for his 6 month check up on the 21 st of July.  I am excited to see what his doc has to say about him. Its always good things, so I m not worried! : D

Who says Money doesnt grow on Trees?

Fathers Day :

Who doesn't want a tree that grows money? Who says money doesn't grow on trees? Well I would love a money tree and I know that money does in fact grown on trees! So I got creative this fathers day . My father is the father of 6 kids, expensive! Yeah, I know and so does his pocket book! He is really never told us no to something that us kids want to do . Whether it is Football, gymnastics, track and field, softball, soccer, lacrosse, baseball, etc.. My parents have always found away! Well lately everyone has been stretching their dollars to the max because of the crappy economy and the worth of your one dollar is not as much as it used to be.  Sure you can buy a dollar hamburger at Mickey Dees, but still a dollar doesn't get you much these days.  Anyways to the point of my story, my dad also talks about his money tree . Has been for years. "Dad we want to go the movies, can I borrow some money?".  " Sure, let me just go pick it off my money tree.", He will say with a grin . We never saw this money tree but boy did that money tree grow some dollar bills! Next minute I knew I was handed a 10 dollar bill and told to be home at 11:00 pm, or in other words curfew.  So for the best fathers day gift, I was giving back all the money I have borrowed . Well sorta-of . My creativity led me to this :

To eat or To sleep?

Poor Ty just couldn't make up his mind the other night on what he wanted to do. Eat or sleep! He decided to eat some then rest his eyes then eat some more. It was pretty funny! He has done this now 2 times in a row, I think all the scooting across the floor is tiring him out.  On another note, Ty now has been eating solids since 4 months. He loves everything I have given him so far. Which are Peaches, Green Beans, Sweet Potatoes, Carrots, Pears, Bananas, and Peas! He knows when there is food coming, he gets all excited in his seat! He even starts the tongue rolling like hes already eating before I can sit down! Tytan is a master at eating off the spoon and finishing all his food. He has a new trick, he loves to do the spit bubbles, so now I wear everything as well! Hes growing so fast, Grandpa found all his tickle spots, so they laugh together. Grandma gives him popcorn and oreos. And everyone else just loves to hold and play with him.  I, on the other hand, just spoiled him with a Johnny jump up. Its a jumping seat, so he can jump up and down, he loves it! He jumps up and down! Watch out heavy weight lifters! Tytans strong now, hes only going to get stronger! ! ! ! !

Sweet Summer Games

Over last weekend I was excited! Excited that I was able to attend some of the last Lacrosse and Baseball Games of the season. Nathan plays lacrosse, hes so fun to watch! He gets so aggressive and is a team player! Josh just got done with baseball, hes halrious to watch. He is the guy who guards second base and while guarding hes throwing his mitt in the up in the air. He is also talkin' to the other teams player or flickin the kids hemlet. Geez. We couldn't stop laughing! Malorie is just finshing up softball. Its really not her thing, shes shy and a little timd about the ball. She loves to pick the dirt out from under her finger nails while sitting out in the field.  So it has been a fun and exciting weekend! Here are a few pictures of the adventures!
