Rides and ICEEs

Lagoon! Who doesn't love Utah's amusement park? Roller Coaster rides, swimming, and unhealthy food?

I honestly, don't like roller coasters, they swimming is great when you go on a day that's less crowded with people. And corn dogs and burgers? Yum. So if I don't make it to Lagoon at least once in the summer, I am not butt hurt about it. I have never really cared for. Since there are not rides that I like to ride. But it is fun when you go with your family and your little brothers and sisters are finally making the height requirements to ride some of those big, make your stomach come out your toes, rides.

So this year. This past Tuesday, June 12, 2012 the family went to Lagoon. Ty and myself tagged along! I figured there where rides that he could ride, the kiddie rides. The rides that may have longer wait times in lines that most of the popular attractions in the park. But who cares, it would give me time to be with my son. Besides we got in for 12 bucks each! Regular price is like 45.00 bucks for me and 29.00 bucks for Ty. EXPENSIVE! So how could I pass up going for 22.00 bucks? Total bonus! The almost the whole family was able to get in for 12.00 each. It was the bounce back prices from the D.A.R.E day that my Mom and younger siblings went too a couple weeks earlier.  Unfortunately Tom wasn't able to go with us. Which was a total bummer since it was Ty s first time experiencing anything like it.

I was a little hesitant going, I knew it was going to be a hot day. And that there were going to be quite a few people. Maybe not as many as there are on the weekends.  And I didn't know if Tytan would even like to ride the rides. 

As we entered through the gates, the atmosphere was filled with happiness. You could hear children and adults laughing. Rides where operating and there were people running left and right to jump in lines.  This year was the first not only for Ty but also our family friend Peter. Peter lives by himself, has no family , and has never been married. We are basically his adoptive family.  He had never heard of Lagoon, till my younger siblings where talking to him about these gigantic roller coaster rides.  Ha. You remember when you were 8 years old and the roller coasters looked like the were in the clouds?  Well this got Peter all excited, he loved roller coasters. Loved Amusement parks is a better term. So we invited him to come along. Not seconds after finding a place to place out our chairs and coolers, were Peter and the kids saying," Okay! Lets go! This ride first!". Once they got the Ok from Mom, they were gone! 

This left my Mom and me to ride the kiddie rides with Tytan. This first ride we went on called OdySea, he sat there patiently. Not knowing what to expect. But when the ride did start he cried the whole time as I sat there next to him and laughed.

Well after that, I was unsure to put him on anything else. But Mal my younger sister who is still small enough to fit on most of the kiddie rides, that my gigantic but is not allowed on, was able to ride quite a few rides with him. Ty loved that, he was all smiles. Mostly, he did get a like freaked out when the ride actually got going. With Mal there to talk to him though, he was all back to smiles. 

After a few rides, we all decided to go swimming. Lagoon-A-Beach. Its a water park located in the park. Filled with slides and different pools that you can play in. And a lazy river that flows around it. The park has inner tubes that you can rent and float along the river or take them down the slides. Ty was unsure about the lazy river. My dad and him just chilled as they went around maybe 30 times.  Then I found a pool that was no deeper than like two feet. It was a kiddie pool and Ty loved it. He was able to walk around the whole pool with the water only coming up to his tummy. So I was fine to follow him around and let him do his own thing. As the day wore on at the pool, my younger sister was done with swimming and ready to ride some more rides. But Ty and the others were not as ready as she was to leave the water park. So while my mom watched Ty in the kiddie pool, Mal and I went to change into dry clothes. When I came back out, there's my mom sitting in a pool chair and my son is no where to be seen! I think she noticed my concern, and told me that my dad had taken him back to the kiddie pool. While I was changing she brought him back to the chairs but he was trying to escape back to the water.
By this time everyone was done and going to change. I went to see where Ty and my dad were, so I could change Ty into dry clothes. My dad was standing at the top on the kiddie slide that emptied out into the kiddie pool.  My dad noticed me and told me to watch. As they went down Ty had the biggest smile on his face and as soon as they were standing up, Ty was telling my dad MORE! My dad told me that they had gone down at least 35 times. Which was funny because when I took him down he did not like it.  

Well after swimming more rides! After a few more rides was dinner. Nothing to spectacular. By closing time, Ty was overly tired and didn't care to ride anymore rides. So we just followed the others around to the rides that they wanted to hurry and ride before they closed. I think they rode Wicked 3 times in a row before it closed. Which is this scary looking roller coaster they built a few years ago.  

We played a few games and won some prizes. By the time we got back to our stuff to pack it up, it felt like we were the only ones left in the park! It was dark and empty. The parking lot was empty expect for a few cars other than our own.

The day was filled with fun! Ty seemed to enjoy it all. He didn't even cry in the haunted house, probably because he couldn't see over the top on the car we rode in! haha. The kids' faces were priceless when they got off of rides, Peters faces were even more priceless. Since it was his first time and all. I will defiantly wait till Tys a few years older to take him again. When he can do more and understand it. But it was well worth my 22.00 dollars to go and enjoy life.

Gah!

I honestly, didn't believe that I have had anything to blog about since my last post. But some new things have popped up in the past few weeks that are worth saying. 


Ty has a few new words to his little vocabulary. He loves the word Uh-oh and Wow. Although the word Wow is spoken in almost a whisper. Totally unsure why, we never whispered the word to him. He is also very good at telling you Hi with a wave when he sees you and Bye with a wave when you leave. He is quite the energetic kid, he might even blow you some kisses when you say I love you! While walking around the house, he has mastered the word Mom. Just Mom. I think hes cleverly figured out to say Mom and see where I am located. If hes doing something or into something that hes not supposed to be in, he books it for the nearest room. Among other things, Ty also signs. We cannot get him to say the words just sign them. He knows how to sign, very well, the words more, please, and thank you. 


Along with the new words Ty thinks hes big enough to teach himself to walk up the stairs now. He has gotten quite good at going up, but he still has figured how to walk down. Unless hes holding your finger.  Hes very good about moving stuff from the washer, whether its wet or just put in, to the dryer. Grandmas big helper. Ty seems to love salt, since hes getting his little fingers into the spice cabinet and pour the salt on the floor.  Then licking his fingers and eating it. I think hes come the realization that he dose not like plain cinnamon.  This all happens at least once a day. 


We have been spending a few days a week and the pool. Ty loves the water. I was able to jump into a program offer by a rec center close by called something like Mommy and me swim lessons. It was every Saturday for a month, and it was entertaining.  You teach your infant or toddler to blow bubbles, lay on their back, kick with their legs, and etc. Ty picked up on bubble blowing, he was doing it in the bath tub long before I thought about toddler swim lessons. He also is a good swimmer with his arms, he moves them like hes swimming to reach a toy. (With me holding his body of course.) 

Other than new things in Tys life, Tom and I s are just taking life as it comes. Tom is still working at Sams club. I chill at home with Ty.  Maybe more cooler and exciting events will come later in the year.  So between all the dirty sippy cups in the sink and missing socks, Tys kisses are superb. ( Blowing Kisses.)

Snow Day!

Well snow has little shy this year. Till a couple days ago, a bunch of snow was blanketed across the valley! So I had been meaning to take Ty out in the snow for the first time.  Today was a beautiful sunny day, even though there was still a good amount of snow in the yard, to adventure into the white fluffy stuff. Ty couldn't quite walk in his bundle suit because I didn't have any boots to put on him. He had to stand and walk with his feet inside the bundle suit feet. So here are a few pictures of Ty in the snow!

Ty is doing very well! Hes very smart! He has mastered the stairs! He can go up and go down on his own. He is growing each day! Getting taller, still skinny!  He knows where his bellybutton is and his nose. He loves to dance! Whether its in the car or in the living room!  He believes it goes " Honk Honk ". Tom and I are doing well. Waiting to see what life throws at us next. Hoping it will be better than the last few months. :) Hope you enjoyed!

Whats been happenin' in our neck of the woods.

Well after the busy holiday season, quite a few things have happened!! Tytan has been walking for a few weeks now! He is pretty hilarious, he walks like a zombie most of the time. Arms all stretched out and screaming the whole time he walks. He has the word Bella down perfectly along with Granpa and Granma. The "D" is missing, but its okay. 


 Ty has also developed some new skills, all of which we have never taught him, unless he was just watching us do them. He cleans is own ears with Q-tips. Which is super cute! He also thinks getting in the bath means shower time, he prefers to stand in the bath. He rarely sits. Rather, he loves to stand and have the water hit him. So like his father.  


His last check up, he was 20 lbs and 30 inches tall. Tall and skinny like his daddy.  He is all caught up on immunizations and hes just a healthy lightweight kid. Who loves Coca cola and string cheese and if you have a touchscreen to anything, that as well. 


On Jan 1 9 Ty turned one! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! I couldn't believe it, still can't believe it. So, on the 19, his birthday day, we went to Cold stone with my mom (Granma), my brother Joseph and of course Tom (Daddy). Joseph's birthday is on the 18 th of Jan. so we thought we would bring him along! Tytan had Chocolate ice cream with Raspberry's. He loved it and couldn't finish it. HaHa. It was cute. He had this Chocolate mustache for part of the day. 


Then on the 21st, we had a party for both boys. Tytan and Joseph. Tytan turned 1 and Joe turned 15! We just had family over to celebrate, cake and presents.  Here are some pictures of the celebration day !  !

As for Tom and I. We are good. Tom is working and continuing his education, I still work as Full time stay at home mommy for Ty. Love it! We are just living life as it goes. Hope you enjoyed the pictures.

AH, The Holidays and into the New Year.

I was bad the last part of 2011. It was a surprise that Santa even visited me this year! I was naughty because I have not blogged! Theres been so much going on and every time I sit down to try and blog, it dosen't end up in blogging. So here it all is- give or take a few details.


I will start with Thanksgiving.  Thanksgiving was amazing, not to mention it was Tytans' first Thanksgiving as well.  Thanksgiving this year happened 3 times. First was at Grandma Hendersons, next was at My moms to celebrate with my moms side, and then it was off to sunny, warm St. George! Our Davis' side family Thanksgiving was held at my Grandma Davis' house in St. George. Only thing that really sucked that it was the Thanksgiving weekend, and Tom had to work. Andrea, my sister, also had to work. So while the rest of my family, Ty, and I traveled to St. George, Tom and Andrea had time to ask a million and one questions to each other. For the next few days.


While in St. George, almost everyone was there! It was just like the times I was younger and we all got together and had dinners.    Not only was there much eating and laughter, there was also our annual Gingerbread House making.  My Grandma Davis makes the Gingerbread dough and all the house pieces. So all of us Grand kids are able to put them together and decorate them.

 Tytan supervised the Gingerbread houses. Making sure they looked great! Next year he will be able to help place then candy on the house and maybe sneak a few pieces to eat.
These are the memories that I am so excited to share with Tytan. And I Hope one day he will be able to really remember them and look back on them and smile like I do.




Next celebration! Christmas!!!!!!


Tytans first Christmas! Boy, was he super good this year! Santa came with lots of presents! We spent Christmas with my family this year! I love doing this! Watching all the kids open presents and Josh getting all excited Christmas eve knowing that Santa s coming! Chirstmas Eve day we used NORAD to track Santas wear bouts around the globe! It was so fun to see where Santa was dropping presents off!
I forgot to mention the Day before the 24.
The Davis side, which includes Aunt, Uncles, cousins, Friends, basically everyone we love, got together on the 23. We missed the Rowland family.  We all get together to have fun! This year Santa visited and of course the best part, Grandmas Chirstmas Eve Gift! Homemade Pajamas!  Everyone for quite sometime now She has gotten together with my Great-grandma to make all the grand-kids jammies! And this year was extra special to me because Tytan was made some! They were so adorable!

This is my cousins daughter Paizlee! She was born in Aug 2011. They are the only two Great Grandchildren!

Christmas day was spent with my family. Tytan was, well, haha happy when he could actually play with his new toys. He didnt care much to unwrap them or wait for his mommy and daddy to take them outta the boxes.  :) typical kid. It was fun to enjoy the time with Ty being his first Christmas and sharing that with my family. My siblings had so much fun opening their gifts and giving gifts. Playing with Ty and his toys. Showing him how they work.  But after all the presents were opened and we ate our Christmas breakfast. We went to church and enjoyed the music and talks that were given. We spent a few hours at My Grandma K's house, my moms side of the family. Then we all went back to my moms for Christmas Day Dinner..... Yummy. My dad bought a prime rib the week before and it marinated that long.  Lets just say. Drooooolllllll! It was so delicious! Ah! We only have it on Christmas Day! 
And I have saved the laughs for last!!!

Alright so I have mentioned Santa came to visit the night we all got together, and received jammies.  Well through Dec. Tytan meet Santa on three occasions. They all didn't end well! haha and Trying to get the picture was even more of a joke.  Well the 23 was the last time to get a picture of Tytan with Santa. And I just had to have one, ya know? It  was his fist Christmas and first time seeing Santa. Well the last and third time was a charm! I was able to get it on video and got pictures!  Now you have to pay attention! 

First of all you have to hold Ty and back up on Santas Lap your self.  Poor Santa just has to walk in the front door and Chuckle and Ty goes ballistic. Doesn't even have to see the guy to make him cry!  Now the first picture Tom did well, then to make Ty cry Santa laughed and got in Tys eye sight. Then, well the rest of the story speaks for it self. 

Ah the holidays were fun, then we just welcomed a New Year in, 2012. Now the only thing next to celebrate is my baby turning one!!! ONE! Ah I am not ready! I just can't believe it. Its almost been a whole year! 2011 Was amazing! Had my amazing son, had a few trails, moved back to West Jordan. I am excited to see what 2012 has in store for my little family!!!!

More to Remember.

Ugh. Seriously can there be anymore death? It feels like death has moved into the valley and decided to stay awhile. Well I think it needs to move on to a different place. Like the middle of the ocean. Kill a few crabs, instead of children who had their whole life to live.  Ah. Let me explain my frustration, my anxiety, and my sadness. The Loss of Jaxen, she was only 17. The 13 year old boy who got hit while walking to school.  Brackon,20, who was hit by a semi. And now my cousin, 20, was found dead in his bed.  

My cousin names is Skyler Webb. We were close as children, but grew apart. I didn't see much of him, our life styles were complete opposites.  I was out Christmas shopping when my mother called me up to tell me that she couldnt meet me, and had to go over to my aunts house. I could hear the sadness and the unbelief in her voice as she was talking, and I knew something was going on or something had happened.  Then she told me, that he had passed.

My heart breaks for my family. For my aunt, who struggles. She is the sweetest person in the world, she would give you her shirt. Even if it was the last one she had. She loves her family with unconditional love. Her life has not been the easiest or the richest.  She has tired do the best she can for her family. My heart aches for my grandma and grandpa who love each grandchild with all of their hearts. My heart aches for my aunts and uncles. My heart aches for my Mother.

I wish things were different and I was just a close with my cousins on my moms side, but I cant change things. Theres things that I just do not wish to be around, but it does not mean I love them any less. I love them alot, they are my family.

I loved Skyler and I have may fond memories of him. I cant't wait to see him again and punch him, and ask what the crap he was thinking.

I just wish that Death would just leave. The people who have died, so young. It breaks my hear to think about  what they could have done in life, who they could have been. If they made all their  dreams come true. If they made a difference in the world. But I feel like they have a higher calling that they are needed else where for something just a tad bit bigger.
Make sure you always tell people how you feel. Make sure you tell your loved ones that you love them. You will never know when they will leave the earth. Yes, we will see them again. It s just a matter of when that time comes.
